Reviews
Very caring, compassionate and professional staff.
They usually have cats and kittens to adopt.
We adopted a death-row rescue kitten from them several years ago, she has changed our lives.
I debated whether to write this review, but I believe it's important to share my recent experience. Yesterday marked my second visit to this veterinarian's office. On my initial visit, I brought in one of our sick rough-scaled pythons, and I couldn't help but notice the vet's rather aggressive approach towards the snake. His demeanor lacked the warmth and care that I've experienced with other veterinarians. I understand the need for caution with snakes, but my second visit, this time with one of my baby guinea pigs, left me with a similar impression.
The nurse ushered us into the examination room, and the vet followed but didn't inquire about our well-being or engage in any small talk. I expressed my desire for a routine check-up for my guinea pig, who was also a bit unwell. However, the vet's response left me unsatisfied. He asked few questions and, in my opinion, seemed uncertain about my pet's condition. He barely examined him and promptly recommended a steroid shot, without conducting the usual health checks I perform at home.
Our visit lasted a mere five minutes, during which he administered the shot but skipped the standard health check. His approach felt rushed, and I perceived a lack of thorough examination. Moreover, I found his handling of the guinea pig to be overly aggressive. When I initially visited this vet, I hoped to avoid the same veterinarian who treated my snake aggressively. Unfortunately, we ended up with the same practitioner. In hindsight, I should have inquired about the availability of another vet for my guinea pig.
Leaving the clinic, I felt traumatized and deeply concerned. I still don't know the root cause of my guinea pig's illness, whether he'll recover, how to prevent future issues, or what warning signs to watch for. A vet visit should instill confidence and assurance, but my experience left me feeling quite the opposite. This vet appeared disinterested, as if he had grown weary of his profession. His lack of empathy and concern left me feeling abandoned during a time when I sought comfort and reassurance for my sick pet.
I highly recommend Eaton's Hill Vet with the rescue adoption process. My little fur baby Olivia 'Liv' chose me on the day. And I couldn't be happier, as she has brought me so me joy.
One of the best vets in Brisbane.
We have been taking our pets here for a number of years and have always been really happy with the service. Very friendly and do a great job explaining the issues and solutions when we have a sick pet.
Family run business with a great premise (seriously its like Jurassic park). If you live around Northside and don't have a regular vet I highly recommend giving them a go.
Great service great pricing, the vet is a quiet kind of guy but can see he really loves the animals and is also very patient with my older larger dog that doesn't deal with vet trips well. Did a great job giving my new puppy her vaccinations
We have now adopted 3 cats from this wonderful surgery, and I could not recommend them more. The staff are incredible with the work they do. So caring, understanding and knowledgeable. We were anxious to add another addition to our family, but Jess elevated all of our stress and walked us through every step. There are not enough kind words in the world to describe the amazing work this surgery does and the wonderful people that work there.
Late last year my feline friend became unwell. As my usual vet was not open on Sundays, I contacted EH veterinary clinic. From the moment I made contact with the clinic I knew we were in extra special hands. Sadly, my feline friend had a tumour and crossed the rainbow following a few weeks Dr Allen and his fabulous team treated Paisley with respect, trying to make her comfy. I felt supported as we made some difficult decisions. An amazing family vet and his quirky caring team. Kudos to this special Vet and his wonderful team.
I was’t going to leave a review but after some thought and what my family went through I felt it needed to be said. My Wife, Mum and kids went to meet a cat for adoption, they had time to meet, and as it’s a big decision for my Wife and kids and said can we go outside for 5 minutes and I will come back and let you know. She jumped in the car and said to the kids we’ll drive around the block and have a think and talk about it. They made the decision and came back to let them know and were told “No” we rang someone else to come see the cat ! Devastated ! It’s a big decision to adopt and one you shouldn’t take lightly. Yes she said 5 minutes she could have taken 10 or even 15 ! But to give someone else a call in the meantime and priority over their choice to adopt when they haven’t even seen or had any emotional attachment I think was wrong and cruel. If there was any confusion they only needed to make one call, but out of some sort of spite, she refused their willingness to adopted the cat they just saw and made a connection too. I hope this doesn’t happen to anyone else, It was very poorly handled. The Kids though they had done something wrong ! I’m sure you guys do a great job normally with the animals in the Vet and all that you do, but you got it very wrong this time.
